It's not that I love the holidays (meh), I just use them as an excuse to illustrate an excruciating amount of cards. My Microns are hurting, but the result is totally worth it, and I look forward to my next card craft time. So, expect my next hand drawn correspondence as soon as next Flag Day (any excuse will do).

Want to pretty-up your Thanksgiving dinner meats? Puff pastry!
Warning: cooked puff pastry gets extra puffy, so plan your design accordingly (margin of puff error?)
Puff pastry (from Trader Joe's) comes in frozen flat sheets. It's easy to work with, has that perfect flakey texture, and even tastes great alone. Here's some tips on how to use it for quickie appetizers. (In college my friend Maggie would wrap gouda slices in Pillsbury crescent rolls, delish! I'm going to sub the tubed dough for Puff and see if I can recreate the treats.)
Sometimes you just gotta trace your hand and glue on some feathers
Uh, sorry guys. The turkey ran away. Turns out he'd rather live his life frolicking with his free range friends. So, hope you all like tofu!
Merry everything and etc.
Coming soon—handmade Christmas cards! (it's not that I like the holidays, I like an excuse to use snail mail. Support your local post office?!)

I adore beer & wine bottle labels. So much so that I'm not only collecting them, I'm dressing up like them ^^ (And, if you're anything like me, you too make your beverage purchases based on the packaging design. Y'know, it's logical.)
Before any glass bottles are tossed into the recycle bin, save the sticker!
Easy: fill up the sink or a pot with hot water and soak the bottle for a bit (fill the bottle so it sinks), and the label will safely peel off in one piece! Beware that the glue may still be a bit tacky.
Hula catcher
1 trip to Toys R Us + 12 hand dyed feathers + 25 yards of yarn = my people-sized dreamcatcher.

Use a round lace doily for the center of a cather. Brilliant!
My orphan earrings get a second chance
What else do you do with half of a set of earrings? Cather ornaments, of course.
Color wheel
My favorite catcher so far! Featuring my second love, paper! Grateful for Anthropologie's low chroma photography, it helped form the tertiary color bits.

I made a mini earth ball
Glass globe + mini moss mountain + baby monkey.
Though, the moss promptly died. I didn't place a layer of pebbles (a filter) beneath the dirt, so it drowned the first time I gave it a drink. I'm a moss killer, gotta bury it in the backyard before Maude finds out.

* ode to the Salad Boy, who builds bags of fresh greens for bossy mothers every Sunday morning at the Main Street farmer's market.
This is for you, dear Salad Boy.
